Project
UAF Engineering Building
The UAF Engineering Building is a national ASHRAE award-winning facility positioned between the existing Duckering and Bunnell buildings. It houses classrooms, student and research labs, industrial machine and woodworking shops, a large high-bay construction testing area, and administrative offices to support UAF’s engineering programs. Designed specifically for Alaska’s arctic climate, the building features a high-performance envelope to maximize energy efficiency. Strategically placed windows, skylights, and glass walls, combined with advanced lighting and control systems, create a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere—especially vital in a region where natural sunlight is scarce for much of the school year.
